OWA is an annual event held in the early spring in Nigeria, Africa. Its mission is to advancement the African offshore exploration and production industry by bringing relevant information about local content, safety and operational issues affecting the blossoming industry. The conference also addresses the technical and commercial challenges to safely and cost-effectively develop offshore West Africa reserves. Established in 1997

Offshore West Africa is forecast to lead the world in annual spending for operations at $13 billion per year by 2010, according to energy analysts Douglas-Westwood. At the same time, the offshore industry is experiencing growth constraints because of the increasing demand for equipment and people. The experienced personnel needed to design, build, and operate drilling and production equipment are difficult to find and command a growing premium.

The OGMT Conference & Exhibition, scheduled for 9 - 13 December 2007 in Bahrain, will bring together inspection and maintenance experts from the energy capitals of the Middle East and around the world.
